Special Friends Mitchelstown
WHO?
Special Friends is a voluntary group run by parents in Mitchelstown which offers practical assistance and support to the families of children with special needs. The group organises specially designed activities, therapies, one-to-one support and outings tailored to the individual physical and emotional needs of its members.
SUPPORT
This support is offered through a range of different activities which include family outings that allow members to enjoy themselves in a relaxed, safe and stress-free environment, sensory parties for children with touch and smell issues, the provision of equipment to help with both educational and physical development and outings for siblings who we often forget are carers too. Volunteers are also provided to enable children to attend mainstream summer camps.
